Why Mr.Tim’s ?

Well, first and foremost because I’m running the show! I’ve been teaching children to read and write English for the past 15 years and I know that our phonics first approach to reading and writing works. It’s been fully tried and tested by me personally. I’m a real educator in the business of education. The most important point I want to make is that in 2006, before I opened Mr. Tim’s Learning Land, I was a teacher and now in 2015, after running a successful phonics school for 9 years, I’m still a teacher. This makes All the Difference because my school is and always will be headed by myself. I know what the teachers need and what the students need. Very few schools are both owned and managed by real teachers. We are also one of only a small number of schools in Thailand to be fully licensed by the Thai Ministry of Education to teach synthetic phonics. This is an important point as it shows our school, teachers and curriculum have credibility not only from the UK but with the  Kingdom of Thailand government as well. My school is judged by YOU the parents on one thing and one thing only – YOUR CHILD’S SUCCESS!!

I believe, there is no life without language and giving your child a head start in life by providing for them the opportunity to learn to speak, read and write in English is a gift to your child that is priceless and will enable them to reach their full potential in life both as an individual and as a valuable, contributing member of society. Quality Teaching

We are a UK based phonics school and therefore only employ university graduates from within the United Kingdom. Our teachers must have a clear and concise British accent to enable them to deliver our phonics curriculum effectively.

ALL teachers are trained by myself initially and assessed by myself throughout their 60 day probation period and regularly after that. My teachers are qualified, professional career teachers who are passionate in all that they do.

Quality Phonics

We use Floppy Phonics Sounds and Letters here at Mr. Tim’s which is based around the UK Letters and Sounds synthetic phonics programme. Since 2007, all schools in the UK have been required by law to teach phonics using this systematic phonics programme.

Oxford University Press began publishing Magic Key books as part of the Oxford Reading Tree for children as early as 1985 with loveable characters such as Kipper, Biff, Chip, Floppy, Wilf and Wilma.

Thirty years later, Floppy Phonics Sounds and Letters has been developed which is used extensively in UK Primary Schools which helps deliver the Letters and Sounds curriculum in a fun and engaging manner.

Quality Resources

At Mr. Tim’s we believe children must have access to a wide range of resources to complement their learning. No expense has been spared in providing both traditional learning resources such as phonics cubes, dice, magnetic whiteboards and flash cards to state of the art 21st technology resources such as Interactive Whiteboards Board’s and Multi-touch touch screen technology.

We know different students respond to different resources in different ways so we have left no stone unturned in providing the widest range of resources possible to all our students to enable them to have the most positive learning experience in the most engaging learning environment.

Quality Communication

At Mr. Tim’s we believe parents’ teachers and students should work as a team. After every class we invite parents into the classroom for 10 minutes to listen to all that has just been taught. All key lesson points are covered such as Saying the Sounds, Sound Vocabulary, Blending the Sounds and Writing the Sounds. We do this to empower parents to help their children at home with their reading and writing homework.
