Introduction Tube Station

Mr. Tim’s Learning Land has been at the forefront of phonics education since our first business started in 2007.

We only hire qualified, native English speakers with prior teaching experience in the UK or an international school setting. All of our teachers are specialists in synthetic phonics and are constantly upgrading their educational knowledge through training and professional development.

For our younger children, we have our Floppy Phonics courses by Oxford Reading Tree. These courses are used by the majority of English Primary Schools and have been developed alongside the UK Letters and Sounds Curriculum framework. Our Floppy Phonics courses focus on the fundamental skills of blending, segmenting and letter formation. Decodable phonics story books are introduced from the very beginning to help children learn new vocabulary and make links with the written word and the world around them.

As students develop their phonics skills, they progress to our Macmillan English courses. Our Macmillan English courses focus on the more complex aspects of language learning such as: conversation, fluency of reading, grammar, listening, reading comprehension and writing composition skills. Our Macmillan English courses are taught following UK National Curriculum guidelines for England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Children using our Macmillan English courses learn from a wide variety of texts; stories, poems and play scripts which enables them to have a rich and varied understanding of the world in which they live.

Here at Mr. Tim’s we want to take all of our students from Pre School to Primary and beyond. We really believe that learning is a lifelong journey and that our courses will give your children the gift of Language for Life.

Older children, study our Macmillan English courses which focus on more complex aspects of language learning such as story conversation, reading fluency, grammar, comprehension and writing skills. These courses are directly based around the UK government’s national curriculum for England.
